Congratulations to seniors Leilani Abraham and Lincoln Urdahl on being named St. Anthony Village High School’s Triple ‘A’ Award winners!
Each year SAVHS has the chance to recognize two senior students through the Minnesota State High School League’s Triple ‘A’ Award program. The Triple ‘A’ Award distinguishes seniors who are strong student students (3.0 GPA or above) and involved in both MSHSL-sponsored athletics and fine arts activities.
Abraham and Urdahl have impressive resumes and are very active in athletics and activities. In the classroom, Leilani has taken an AP course, three PSEO courses, and two CIS courses all while posting a GPA over 4.0. She has been in band all four years of high school, including being a section leader her sophomore year. Athletically, Abraham has been on the varsity basketball team since 8th grade, being a captain both her junior and senior seasons. Leilani recently scored her 1000th career point on the basketball court and has been named All-Conference in both basketball and track & field. Outside of SAVHS, Abraham has also taken part in clubs at the University of Minnesota, including Emerging Leaders of Color and Analytics U, where she has had an opportunity to improve her leadership skills and work with other student leaders from various backgrounds.
Like Leilani, Lincoln has also compiled a GPA over 4.0, while taking one AP course, one CIS course, and eight PSEO courses. During his sophomore season, Urdahl and the rest of the baseball team were the class 3A academic state champions and this past fall, Urdahl helped the football team win the All-State Academic Award for one of the top GPAs in the state. Lincoln is a three-sport captain and has been named All-Conference in football and baseball. He has spent 11 seasons on varsity teams and has attended a variety of leadership events, including the Minnesota Twins High School Leadership Academy and the Minnesota Wild Captains Leadership Summit. In addition to sports, Lincoln has also participated in visual arts since his freshman year, receiving a Superior Rating last year.
Next year, Leilani plans to pursue a degree in Exercise Science and Lincoln plans to pursue a degree in Financial Management.
