Updates from the Art Department
The St. Anthony Village High School (SAVHS) art department had a busy week last week, giving students the opportunity to explore different art styles and showcase their work.
On Monday, April 7, the department attended the Tri-Metro Arts Festival with nine art students. The festival was hosted at Columbia Heights this year and featured workshops with local artists.
Then on Saturday, Ms. Hample and Ms. Mason set up student's art at the Section 4AA art competition at the Perpich Center for Arts Education in Golden Valley. The student submissions will be on display until April 26. An awards ceremony will take place on April 26 and the works that receive a Spotlight on the Arts Award will move on to the MSHSL Statewide Visual Arts competition that will take place in May.
A big thank you to Ms. Hample and Ms. Mason for their hard work and support of SAVHS' art students, and congratulations to all those who have art displayed at the Perpich Center.
